What is the model of the tv?
Does it happen on all inputs/sources (aerial, cable, dvd, etc)?

LG model it only went like this over a week ago we had a storm here and lost foxtel connection since then we've had this sound issue not sure weather that had anything to do with it,I also recall we had the same issue about 4-5 years ago

Let's start by unplugging power to the foxtel box for 60+ seconds to reboot it, and let me know if the problem continues.

If so, I'd need you to specifically test other inputs too (dvd, etc)
