I have a six year old Samsung 50" tv and starting about 3

I have a six year old Samsung 50" tv and starting about 3 days ago I noticed pencil thin black lines running from side to side on the top 3" of my tv. Some of there lines are darker in the middle lines. Any suggestions to correct this? Thanks

I will need to know some additional information:

1. What is the model number of your TV?

2. Do the lines affect all inputs? What all inputs have you tried?

3. Do the lines affect the on-screen menu?

4. Do the lines always stay in the same place?

5. Could you attach some photos of the lines on the TV screen?

Model number of my 50" Samsung is PN50C450B1DXZA Version NY02. The lines stay on the top 3" of tv running side to side. The only thing I did was move the HDMI port from HDMI 1 to HDMI 2. I don't have the ability to send a picture to you. My phone is a 12 yr old flip phone. What do you mean by affecting the on screen menu? Please talk to me in simple terms. I am not well versed in tech language. Thanks

When you press the menu button on the remote control, do the lines appear through the menu and affect it also?

Or does the menu appear perfectly undisturbed over the lines?

After pressing the menu button on remote the lines appear in the same place as when regular programming is on.

If the issue with my tv is that repair is needed to remove lines can you tell me would it be too expensive and not worth the effort?

There are a couple of things that could cause this problem.

Will you be attempting the repairs yourself?

First thing to check is that the display cables are securely connected - if they have worked loose, you will get these pixel-wide black lines across the screen.

The back cover will need to be removed from the TV and then you will need to disconnect then re-connect all of the panel's display cables.

If the problem remains unresolved then a board may be faulty.

Estimated costs for a repairman to do these checks are $100-200.

30144- so the problem is not exterior connections but internal. The picture is fine except for the lines at the top 3" of screen. Somewhat loose connections on the exterior of tv could not affect lines on tv right?

Yes these problems are definitely internal since the menu is also affected.

I will rate you but the bot***** *****ne is that I still need to take the tv to a repair shop which I was hoping wasn't the case. If you were able to correct the problem I wouldn't have a problem paying the $28.00. I hope you see my side. Sorry
