Facing TV Problems? Ask a TV Technician.
Hi , I`m Jack Perhaps I can help you with this problem but first could you please give me the tv`s and sound bar model numbers ?
And you said that right now the sound bar connected to the cable box and working ?
O.k and it is still connected to the cable box only or to the tv ?
In your opening post you said first that you connected it to the tv and it was working , was that a typo ?
Right now one thing is for sure, if the soundbar is connected to the cable box then it definitely won`t get anything from the apple tv .
The soundbar needs to be connected to the tv
Give me a minute please
O.k then here is what you need to do ;
Your tv does not have optical but it has coaxial digital out at the back and your sound bar has that type of input just above the optical you are using now.
This requires a simple RCA type rca to connect then set your sound bar to that input and now you should have the sound from both units
On your tv the DIGITAL AUDIO out is just beside input 7
No problem , take your time
You know what a RCA cable is ,yes ?
You can use a stereo cable , just used one side only and as i said look at the back right beside INPUT 7 and there is a single RCA type jack that should say DIGITAL AUDIO
Give me a minute here
click the link below and if that link opens a login window popup then just close it with the upper corner X or the "no thanks . continue to view"The picture is behind that .
Your sound bar first ;
Your tv ;
I believe you can figure the type of cable now
Did you set the soundbar to that input ?
Are the tv speakers turned off?
You mentioned earlier that you had a 3.5 mm to rca cable ?
In that case use the headphone jack on the tv and into the rca audio 1 on the soundbar , you are certain to have sound there but don`t forget to turn the internal speakers back on first
Your tv is one of those that won`t give out digital sound when the source is HDMI like your apple tv
By using the headphone jack you will have whatever sound is now playing in the tv speakers so you will have sound on everything
Left rear side just above HDMI 1
On the TV's left side
Thats a 3.5mm ***** *****ke for headphones for a walkman or ipod etc, not RCA
Did you find it ?
Plug that 3.5 mm plug you have into it now
What type of cable do you have ??
Both ends 3.5mm plug ?
only one 3.5 mm jack on the sound bar !
Fine , do you have that cable plugged in now ??
The red and white INPUT 1 and no it does not matter who red or white give it a try PLEASE
I`m sorry but its getting late here and i will opt out and repost your question
