Tv is about 10 years old and the problem occurred about month ago

Thanks for the info. This is common issue with this type of Sony LCD rear projection TV where optical-block (light engine) that generates image/ picture and projects it on TV front screen, goes bad, optical block replacement is only option to resolve the problem but it would cost good money like $600 to $800 which isn't economical. Sony had lots of complain for this problem and had recall several years back, please click on following link for more details..
