Now you are saying the front panel buttons are not active or that the DEVICE button does change the input but nothing shows up ?

Expert:  Jack replied 11 months ago.

In other words , something happen when you press that button , is that correct ?

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
None of the front panel buttons respond
Expert:  Jack replied 11 months ago.

O.k then and I take it that you don`t have the TV's own remote ?

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
No I don't, never have had one
Expert:  Jack replied 11 months ago.

Right now it looks like the front panel may be locked out .

Try this , press and hold for 10 secs the DEVICE button and then try the buttons again

Expert:  Jack replied 11 months ago.

Its either that or press and hold the MENU button , this changes with the models

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
I've tried holding the device button, no change
Expert:  Jack replied 11 months ago.

try the menu then

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
All this happened when I tried to use the cancel button for the tv GUIDE SETUP
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Well that will have to wait, I'm at work right now
Expert:  Jack replied 11 months ago.

I just checked and it is indeed the MENU button that will unlock those controls and if you want a full reset (passwords and all) then press and hold the POWER button 10 secs and this will return the tv to factory settings.
