I have an old Samsung TV connected to Xfinity X- box. The

Jack I have an old Samsung TV connected to Xfinity X- box. The volume control is displayed on the bottom of the TV screen and I can not adjust the volume. It is like the volume is locked. Neither with then Samsung remote or the DVR 5 remote from Comcast. Yesterday, I did the power off for the comcast box and turned the power off on the Samsung and held the mute button and then hit 8-2-4 and turned the power on and it allowed me to do the volume control. But when I turned on Xfinity I had the same problem. So tried it again but it did not work.
Any suggestions.

Do you mean that the volume freezes only on the Xfinity box ?

Do you have anything else connected to the tv beside that box ?
