Facing TV Problems? Ask a TV Technician.
Hello and sorry you're having problems. I may be able to help, but I need to ask for more information.
1) Can you get me the full model number off of the back of the TV?
2) When you turn the TV on, does the Vizio logo display on the screen?
3) If not, does the screen appear as though the set is not even ON (no backlights)?
Please let me know when you are able to see my reply.
Thank you, ***** ***** is bad news. The TV should always display it's own Logo when the TV is powered up- if it does not, this indicates a hardware failure in the TV. Most common causes are the Power Supply Board or the Mainboard inside of the set, which requires replacement of the offending board.
However it's worth it to try a hard reset, as sometimes the processor in the TV can simply have locked up.
The first thing you would try, is disconnect the set from power, then press and hold the power button on the TV itself (not the remote), for 10 seconds and release. Then plug the set back in, and also check that the power cord is connected tight at the TV as well. Press power once, and see if the set powers up normally. Try this procedure up to 3 times, and please let me know what happens.
