Hello, I'm Shahid and will be happy to assist you.

Please press and hold power button on TV itself for more than 5 seconds, does power indicator light lit or start blinking?

Thanks.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
No I don't get any lights
Expert:  Shahid replied 1 year ago.

OK, how old is the TV and was there any lightning storm in area that might caused the problem in TV?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
The Tv is about 2 or 3 years old. The surge protector got shut off and it went off and now won't come on.
Expert:  Shahid replied 1 year ago.

OK, have you tried to plug TV power cord directly to wall outlet?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
still no lights. I've also tried a different power cable
Expert:  Shahid replied 1 year ago.

Also, can you please recheck TV model number?

TC-P50V5 seems incorrect/ incomplete model number.

Expert:  Shahid replied 1 year ago.

Model number could be TC-P50U50 or some thing similar?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I'm sorry it's TC-P50X5
Expert:  Shahid replied 1 year ago.

ah OK, thanks.

TV symptoms (no power light at all, solid or blinking) indicates either power supply board or main (A) board failure, since there is no sign of life in TV then most probably it would be power supply board failure and replacement of power board in TV will help to resolve the issue. Please check following board supplier link to get replacement power supply board if you wish to replace it yourself in TV..
