Thanks , a few questions coming up ;

Expert:  Jack replied 1 year ago.

Did this problem happen all of sudden or gradually got worse over the last few days/weeks ?
Like it would take longer to get a picture ?

Do you still have sound ?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
no sound and it was given to me like this
Expert:  Jack replied 1 year ago.

O.k then the no sound could be simply that its not on the correct input if you cannot see a picture.

How about the TV's own menu , can you see it ?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
had it hooked up to cable and made no difference
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
no menu
Expert:  Jack replied 1 year ago.

O.k then from your description this would definitely look like a defective t-con board and you can buy that board at the link below for $20 if you are interested of taking a shot at the repair yourself ;

If that is not your cup of tea so to speak then to have this repaired by a shop could cost you upwards of 150 to $175

Expert:  Jack replied 1 year ago.

This is a 40" tv and they were not the most expensive to buy 5 years ago so I would not spend too much in it considering the fact that you can by a new 40" tv for around 250 to $300

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Thank you Jack, think for $20 I'll give it a try.Than's again for your help, if this doesn't work I'll be contacting you back.
