Customer Question

We have a Samsung DPL HL-T5687SA TV bought new in late 2007. About 2 months ago a lone white dot appeared on the screen. Now there must be at least 50 white dots that appear on the screen.
Can this be repaired. If so what will the approximate cost be?

Hello, and sorry you're having problems. Yes this is common to all DLP sets that used the Texas Instruments DLP chip (which this set does), and the dots are the mirrors on the chip failing. The chip itself is around $200 and labor is also around $200 for a total of $400 to repair the set for this problem. If you'd like you can use the link below to locate a tech in your area:

Alternatively if you're looking to repair this yourself, let me know and I will try to locate the chip for you to purchase.
