I have a Sony model KDF50E2000. I got an on-screen notice

Customer Question

I have a Sony model KDF50E2000. I got an on-screen notice that my lamp was near its end of life. I ordered a new part and installed it today. Instead of getting a blinking green light followed by the full-screen picture, I got a constant blinking red light and no picture. Help!

OK let me tell you about this problem.....its caused by either the lamp door not being fully secured OR most commonly by the lamp IN switch in the base of the lamp cavity, the lamp hits the switch when inserted, now these switches can go bad they are a safety feature that sony abandoned because they cause too much hassle so please take out the lamp again and re-insert it positively, then close the lamp door and try again, you may need to do this 3 or 4 times before both switches are closed

Let me know please
