Hi and welcome to JustAnswer,

Thank you for the question and your patience. Should you still need assistance for information purposes only...

Initially, is the TV directly connected to an antenna? ...or is there a cable box or even a satellite receiver?

Bear with us; re-confirm and post back with the complete model number of the satellite receiver. Additionally, please describe how this receiver is connected to the TV using what kind of cable(s).

Appreciate the additional information.

The simplest approach would be to make use of the DirecTV HR44's white & red RCA jacks/AUDIO OUT. Most brands/models of wireless headsets would work with these RCA jacks of the HR44-700 similar to the product shown HERE.

Unfortunately, the Panasonic TC-L55E50 does not have similar analog output jacks hence those of the satellite receiver would have to be used.
