I am having an issue with a Samsung LN37A550P3FXZA 37"

Customer Question

Hi, I am having an issue with a Samsung LN37A550P3FXZA 37" flat screen TV. After switching it on, the backlight seems to come on (the screen turns from dark black (when off) to 'bright black' (with backlights on and 'black' pixels), but the menus on the
screen are hardly visible and vertical stripes appear. After a minute, the picture fades away more and is hardly visible. See http://www.bynarus.com/public/SamsungTV1.jpg and http://www.bynarus.com/public/SamsungTV2.jpg for a picture of the screen taken in
a dark room right after switching the TV on and about a minute later. Everything else works (sound, channels, etc.), so it seems to be just a display issue. I was able to repair a similar problem with this TV about 1.5 years ago, thanks to the advice from
Mike from this site (http://my.justanswer.com/question/index/32d8a0160fd24521a1787b5383d1c41e). I was hoping to be able to do the same but I would like to know which part/board to replace. Thanks a lot, Sven

Hello, my name is***** am an experienced electronics field technician connected to you via this pay for assistance chat based support service. Your satisfaction is my top priority and in return your positive rating is the only way I will receive credit for my time.

This symptom is typical of a bad Tcon board. There are a few different versions of this board so you will need to take the back off the tv to verify the numbers on your board before ordering. Here is one place to see at least three of the versions:

Once you have the numbers on your board you can check if it is in stock, or search google or eBay for other sellers.
