That being said , i would have a few questions ;
Are you moving the direct tv box to another tv or the tv to the box ?
Do you get a "no signal" message from the tv or the direct tv box ?
you are talking about color coded cables then hdmi cable , whcih one do you have ?
If you look at the link below , can you give me a number ?
O.k then that will do for HD as well but if your tv and direct tv box do have HDMI ports then it would be much easier and digital .
In any case this will do , just one more thing ;
Can you give me the TV's model number ?

Do you have the TV's remote ?
Could it be LED32B30RQ
O.k then there is only one component input on the TV's rear side , what happens when you press the INPUT button repeatedy on the remote ?
Does it go to that component input ?
Make sure the direct tv box turned on first
no problem , take your time
You will have to double check your connections and make sure that the color or the jack (green/blue/red) do match on both sides and yes this tv is HD , it has HDMI inputs .
You don`t happen to have a spare HDMI cable do you ?
Your direct tv box should also have a HDMI port and beside the fact that you would get a better picture and sound , that would make life much easier for you

Does your direct tv have a HDMI port at the back ?
That's it , , that would be the best wiring if you do have one of those , otherwise they cost less than 10 now
