Are you moving the direct tv box to another tv or the tv to the box ?

Do you get a "no signal" message from the tv or the direct tv box ?

COMPONENT Cbles #2
Expert:  Jack replied 1 year ago.

O.k then that will do for HD as well but if your tv and direct tv box do have HDMI ports then it would be much easier and digital .

In any case this will do , just one more thing ;

Can you give me the TV's model number ?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Leet me go look. I'm not in the same room.LED 32BE3QRQ
Expert:  Jack replied 1 year ago.

Thanks , I will be a minute .

Do you have the TV's remote ?

Expert:  Jack replied 1 year ago.

Could it be LED32B30RQ

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
THAT'S IT ANS YES I HAVE THE REMOTE
Expert:  Jack replied 1 year ago.

O.k then there is only one component input on the TV's rear side , what happens when you press the INPUT button repeatedy on the remote ?

Does it go to that component input ?

Make sure the direct tv box turned on first

GIVE ME A MINUTE
Expert:  Jack replied 1 year ago.

no problem , take your time

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I NOW GET A PICTURE UNDER THE COMPONENT INPUT BUT IT IS GRAY WITH YELLOW LINES RUNNING THRU IT. I ALSO GET A MESSAGE THAT THE CABLES OR TV IS NOT HD. BASED ON THE MODEL NUMBER CAN U TELL IF THE TV IS A NON HD TV?
Expert:  Jack replied 1 year ago.

You will have to double check your connections and make sure that the color or the jack (green/blue/red) do match on both sides and yes this tv is HD , it has HDMI inputs .

You don`t happen to have a spare HDMI cable do you ?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
GIVE ME A FEW MINUTES
Expert:  Jack replied 1 year ago.

Your direct tv box should also have a HDMI port and beside the fact that you would get a better picture and sound , that would make life much easier for you

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
The TV is mesagging me that I need standard cables to run the program.I can't get anything to run now
Expert:  Jack replied 1 year ago.

Standard cables ??

Does your direct tv have a HDMI port at the back ?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Y es
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Its a single USB-like port
Expert:  Jack replied 1 year ago.

That's it , , that would be the best wiring if you do have one of those , otherwise they cost less than 10 now

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
The TV has 2 of them
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Sshould I leave the HDMI hooked up?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Jack,
I think everything is resolved. It all works under HDMI 1 in HD color
Expert:  Jack replied 1 year ago.
