Have TV Questions? Ask a TV Technician
Hello and sorry you're having problems. How long have you owned the Yamaha for?
Also, have you tried removing ALL speaker wires from the back of the unit and seeing if it will power up without these wires? That would rule out an external short as being the cause of the problem.
Okay, if speaker disconnection didn't work (please make sure you removed the WIRES- not just the speakers), then this is likely a hardware failure of the receiver- not something that can be corrected via any settings or adjustments. I'm looking to see if there is a factory reset procedure for this model.
However, please first try this- disconnect the unit from power, then press and hold the power button on the receiver itself (not the remote), for 15 seconds and release. Then wait a minute and plug the receiver back in, then press power once. Try this up to three more times and see if you can get the unit to power up.
Let me know what happens.
