Hi and welcome to JustAnswer,Thank you for the question and your patience. Should you still need assistance for information purposes only...Initially, is the Sony completely / electrically dead? ...or is it locked in standby mode?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
HI LOUIE,
UNIT IS NOT IN STANDBY MODE, SEEMS TO BE ELECTRICALLY DEAD.
I HAVE LOOKED FOR A ON/OFF BUTTON ON UNIT BUT CANNOT FIND ONE,

Then it would be an internal hardware issue. Are you then considering a DIY (do-it-yourself) repair approach? If yes, do you have access to and familiar with a multimeter and even a soldering iron?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I WORK ON DC CIRCUITS ON A DAILY BASIS, SO HAVE OWN MULTI- METER AND SOLDING IRON

Great on the DIY Mark! First check would be for the fuse in the power supply circuit (PS). The PS board is nearer the front and the AC cord directly runs to it. The fuse would be located off to 1 corner where the AC line cord is plugged into the PS board. Could you try check the continuity of the fuse?
