Are you connecting an antenna directly into the back of the tv or are you using a converter box?

Well, this tv only has an ANALOG tuner. You don't need to do a reset and even if you could use the remote to scan for channels, it won't find any at all because all channels have converted to DIGITAL. You will need to buy an over the air Digital to Analog converter box that goes between the antenna and the tv for about $35:
