Customer Question

I have a 57 inch vizio galleria that may have overheated and will no longer turn on. It will click when power is applied and when the power button is pressed. The buttons on the front light up but the screen is dead.
What can be done?

OK if you press the menu button of the sets own remote control does the menu come up?
If you switch the set off with the remote does it obey the command?
Anthony
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
The remote only works to turn it on, after that nothing.
Expert:  Anthony_Infotech replied 1 year ago.
So the remote switches it ON but not OFF and there is no menu is that correct?
Can you see any visible light at all on the display even a very feint glow?
Anthony
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
The screen appears to be completely dead.
Expert:  Anthony_Infotech replied 1 year ago.
OK so no menu the screen is black no sound vizio light lit as normal.
OK because of the no sound issue and a black screen checks with a meter on the power-board would be needed to verify all the voltage rails are up are you able to use a meter and small tools? its very likely this will lead to replacement of a board if you think you can do this work let me know I will provide all the necessary info in stages.
If you are not comfortable with that you will need a tech www.tvrepairpros.com will locate a tech in your area
I am sorry this is not something easier
Let me know if you need more info/help
A positive rating is appreciated thank you there will be a rating bar with this post thanks again

I am an electrical engineer so I should be able to handle testing the components. Please send me the instructions on what to test and where to find them. I do not have all the tools on me at this time so it will have to be done later.

OK thats fine just come back here with a meter and small tools I may not be able to answer immediately but I will when I see your post thank you
Please hook up a DVD player or similar so that we can see if there is any sound press the INPUT button on the TV remote slowly and see if the sound comes through this will save a lot of checks its the sound thats a distraction here
