My 2006 40 in Samsung flat screen tv has been perfect until Sunday night. I only use an antenna. A black band has appeared on every channel across the full wide screen about face level. When I select a channel, for instance Ch 2, a light green transparent box appears under the Ch 2 logo box and it says "1080i 16.9
Multi Dolby Digital. What caused this and how do I fix it?

The black band is about 4 inches wide and runs horizontally across the entire screen. Model LNT4042HX/XAA

The band moves to cover the faces so if people are standing or sitting, the band moves up or down so the faces and chests can't be seen

Cathy have you tried a reboot of the set?unplug from wallpower wait 5 mins then replug back in again?if not could you please do that and let me know if there is any change
