OKay - I entered my credit card # XXXXX you accepted it.  Then I couldn't remember my password XXXXX you sent me another one.  I try to log in but apparently I don't know where to go.

Hi there, sorry to hear you're having trouble with the tv,

Nathan :

can you tell me if this happens on all sources? (cable/satellite, dvd, game, etc)?

Nathan :

If you bring up the on screen menu (tv settings menu), is it fuzzy as well, or does it appear normal?

Always fuzzy, minimum contrast, too dark

that can indicate several possible causes,

on a dlp set like this it can be a bad lamp, a bad color wheel, or internal contamination (dirty optics)

Yes, that is correct

The dark/contrast issue is the biggest sign it is the lamp

Nathan :

if you haven't replaced the lamp for at least a few years, that should be your first step

Customer:

I know how to replace the bulb but no idea on another fix

Nathan :

Well the other issues aren't such an easy fix. You can open the case up (taking off the back panel) and blow everything out with compressed air to clean any dust that might be on the optics

but other issues like the color wheel won't have a practical fix

Nathan :

it can be done, but to be honest you'd be better off buying a new tv, as this one is getting old and would be very expensive to fix
