- Does menu show up if press Menu button on TV remote?
- What video devices are connected to TV? cable box, DVD etc

- Was any repair or part replacement done to TV in past?
- Is there any light blinking or turned red on TV front?

TV was made April 2009 and as far as I can tell there are no blinking lights

What is the color of Status light on TV front while no picture appears in TV screen?
Is t green or red or yellow, flashing or stay solid?

It will flash green but then turn red when it cuts itself off after 5 min

Res status light indicates lamp problem in TV that is dead and requires replacement.
Lamp in this TV has limited lifespan and goes out after 2-3 years service which is normal, please replace lamp in TV that would resolve the issue.
Mitsubishi original replacement lamp is available with Mitsubishi Parts for $99, please check following link, put TV model number in search box of that site to get lamp price info and to order it.

Lamp replacement procedure is easy and written in user manual of TV, remove lamp cover on lower rear of TV to access to lamp, please download user manual copy, if required, from following link and check page 25 for detailed instructions about lamp replacement.
