Hi

OK the most suspicious item is the lamp itself other things that can cause this is the color wheel this can make a humming noise prior to failure or the ballast.
Right now the lamp is the most suspect and has a life of between 2.5 and 3 years for normal use of the set.
The ballast can have a lamp "holding" issue that is not keeping the lamp lit however its rarer for the ballast to do that, in most cases the ballast wont light the lamp at all when its bad.
Replace the lamp and you should be back in business you need a genuine lamp OEM and you can get one of those from www.dlplampsource.com

Here is a video to explain how you do that

Please let me know if you need more info or further clarification

Many Thanks
