Our Insignia NS-L46Q120-10A has a hazy whitish picture display. You can see the whole picture, TV shows and movies but it is behind this whitish hazy layer. The sound and everything is working fine.
Could this be a problem with the backlight inverter?

Yes...the menu comes up hazy also

Hello Edward

The problem is one of two issues

1)And most suspicious is the tcon board this is the LCD display driver board usually mounted upper middle of the set this drives the LCD panel (screen)

2)The LCD panel itself (very bad news)

Their is no way to check the tcon it can only be replaced for elimination purposes if you want to pursue doing that yourself let me know, if after replacement you still have the haze then the LCD panel is bad.
If it does end up to be the panel then you should make a complaint to Insignia as to replace the panel is not an option due to the cost.

Let me know if you need more info
