hook up the dvd player with your blue green red and enter the setup menu
check the resolution output on HDMI and set to 720P not 1080P
The DVD player does not allow me to check resolution output.
yes it does
pull the dvd and ener setup menu without a disc
The DVD in setup only allows me "TV Aspect" and "Display Mode." No other choices
enter display mode
and read the choices
Dolby Digital, DTS, MPEG, Sample Freq., DRC, & Vocal, these are the choices in "Display"
that sounds like audio choices not display choices
what is the make and model of the dvd player?
You're right. All I get in Display Mode is 16:9. It will not allow me any other choices.
what is the make and model ?
LG Mod. #LDA-511
on the front of your unit there is a button that says RESOLUTION
hook up the hDMI and press this button until you see a picture mode that is supported
Removed the blue/green/red and hooked only the HDMI in1 then pushed "Resolution." Tried scrolling through source and only got HDMI "Searching for Signal", then "Not Supported Mode." and "AIR" with snow. No other options.
leave hdmi not supported on the screen
and scroll through the resolution setings on the dvd player
That was it! I've got a picture and sound. Nothing like a complicated piece of electronics to frustrate.
Thanks for your help. I'm sure even had I downloaded the manual, I still would not have gotten it.
