Hi I have a Sony 50 inch SXRD that will not power on. My kids were watching a show and it spontaneously shut down without warning. Attempts to power it back on fail whether it be with the power button on the front panel or the power button on the remote. I don't get any LED's when I press the power button. I've make sure the power cord is plugged in and is getting 120V. Any ideas?Sony KDS-R50XBR1Thanks.

Hi,- How old is KDS-R50XBR1 TV?- Please confirm that no power indicator turns On (solid or blink) on TV front when power cord plugs in.These info will help to diagnose the problem.Thanks.
The TV was purchased in February of 2006. The power indicator does not come on at all. Tried to unplug for 1/2 hour and then plugged it back in. No change.
OK, it seems power supply board in TV got bad and need to check / replace.Do you have multimeter to proceed to further troubleshooting or need to know where to buy replacement power supply board if want to replace it by yourself?Let me know please.Thanks.
I have a multimeter but I would like to know what the power supply board is worth first. Would you be able to tell me where to buy a replacement board? I am in Winnpeg, MB Canada.Thanks.

Service manual of TV shows G board location in TV chassis in exploded view and has info about how to disassemble the TV like taking off back, taking out chassis and removing boards etc.Will it be OK to replace the board?Please let me know to proceed further.Thanks.
