The light should be flashing in groups. How many times does it flash before pausing and flashing all over again?

Barry,I posted an answer, then re-read what you said initially. You said sometimes switching on and off at the mains "helps"... does that mean you can sometimes get it to turn on?
hi dan yes it started by not turning on with remote witch lasted about 4 weeks then i tried turing off on stand by swich again it worked for 2 weeks now i turn off at mains it works sometimes
When you are able to turn it on, does the TV function normally? Picture and sound are normal?
yes everything works fine even remote
Barry,Thank you. The most probable cause of these symptoms, is a defective power supply circuit board. This is a fairly inexpensive repair, even if you hire a professional... usually £95-£150 but it could be slightly more or less depending on where you live and whether or not the repairman plans to replace individual components from the board, or the board as a whole.
