Purchased June 2012. Get no sound using hdmi. Must use composite cables.

Thank you for that information, from what you explaining you are going to need the main board replaced. This would involve removing the main board and reinstalling a new one along with a software upgrade. Are you looking for a probable cost of repair or is this something you are going to tackle yourself?

Could I try doing the software upgrade first? If that doesn't work I return the sucker. Where do I get the software upgrade? I know about using the USB ports. Thank you...alot. You've been pretty helpful so far.

Sure no problem that would be good idea. here is the link for the software make sure you check the entire model number. http://www.samsung.com/us/support/ an dfollow the instuctions they will download with the software.
