Ok, thank you.
This is an internal failure. Repair will be required. Do you plan to get inside the TV to repair it yourself, or do you need a cost on repair?
Dan
can you give me both options please
Paul,
With your model, a 6-blink error code is usually indicative of a bad scan drive board (aka "SC-board") but I've seen other things go along with that. It usually ends up at $350-$550 depending on what we find when we actually get inside the TV. These error codes don't tell us exactly what's wrong... they just give us an area to start looking... a good idea, and when we see enough we can establish a history and give pretty accurate repair quotes even without looking inside the TV. So... $350-$550 for parts and labor. If you need a good tech, check out tvrepairpros.com and enter your zip code. They have a pretty good listing.
Now, if you want to dive in and repair it yourself... we need to get inside to troubleshoot. We'll start by disconnecting the power cord for 5 minutes, then removing the TV's entire rear panel to expose the circuit boards. Now, stand behind the TV and look on the left hand side. You'll see 2 thin boards, positioned vertically. Look very closely with bright light and a magnifying glass all over those boards... are there any small pin-hole burns? Any melting? Smoke marks?
