i have a rca hd big screen tv around 2007 model the tv sometimes comes on then shuts off other times it might come on for 5 mins then shuts off and sometimes it comes on and stays on. what should i do?????
Optional Information: Make: rca Model: hd52w59 Already Tried: i pulled off the back cover and checked the power cord i unplugged it on the inside of the tv. i think its the power button on the front of the tv. my grandmother had a part put in 2 months ago for $225 i dont know what it was she called them back out but they never showed so i inherited the problem.

Initially, the described symptom almost always indicate a cold solder issue. The challenge would be that the often culprit/cold solder joints are on the FBT (flyback transformer) and on the foil side of the PCB (printed circuit board).Offhand, the above would require that the unit be opened up fully for visual inspection, voltage measurements, confirm fault and effect repairs.Are you then considering a more in-depth DIY (do-it-yourself) repair approach? Are you familiar with electronic components, have access to / comfortable in the use of a multimeter, a soldering iron and working with high voltage circuits?
