I have a Sony KDP-65WS550 projection TV. I get the 10X blink that I've been reading soo much about on other forums. My problem happened in 2008 and I replaced a diode #D6114 and it fixed my issue for 4 years. I replaced the diode again now that it is happening again, but this time it didn't change anything. Do you happen to know of any other fixes that a home electrician with a Radio Shack nearby can do?
Optional Information: Make: Sony Model: KDP-65WS550 Already Tried: Replaced D6114.
Hello WelcomeThanks for the QuestionThats 9 blinks from memory for the zero-cross-detection circuit the diode you replaced, Has the set ever come back on again then dropped to 10 blinks or has it just stuck on 10 blinks?Anthony
When I turn the power on I get sound but no picture and the red LED blinking slowly. After about 20 seconds the power shuts off and I get 10 rapid blinks, a 3 second pause, then 10 more blinks.
HiThis is high voltage protection shut down but in reality its actually failure of the control chips IC8002 and IC6400 both are MCZ3001D available from www.mcmelectronics.com they are found on the D board which is also the board that houses the horizontal output transformer its an unmistakeable bulky object with a red wire going to the top of the tubeYou will need to be able to solder well to replace these two chips you can afford to make a mistake solderingLet me know if you dont understand anything or need more infoPlease press the "continue conversation" or "reply to expert" button if you dont wish to rate me yet and require more infoPlease remember if you select "bad service smiley" or "poor service smiley"this will be a negative against my ratings and I wont receive a credit for helping you today instead of doing that please press the "continue conversation" or "reply to expert" and I will endeavour to help moreThe thread will still be open even if you do rate the answer nowMany ThanksAnthonyAnthony
