I think the serial no. is VGI2232C-YGB-N. I purchased the dish in 2001. the tag shows a dash after the n and the next line reads QC OK 06-17-Y2K but I think that it means it was checked for y2k ability

yes. I actually just heard back from winegard and they have e-mailed me the manual. I really appreciate your prompt attention to my problem and for realizing that I had actually set up 2 accounts with a duplicate question.
