Can't verify if the tv remote buttons work, the remote doesn't seem to work. The TV is about 2 1/2 years old.
I am sorry, I mean do all the buttons on the tv itself work correctly?Tim
All the buttons on the tv work.
all the TV buttons work properly.
Ok lets test the remote. take the remote and point it at a digital camera or a cell phone with a camera. Press a button and look through the camera, do you see a light coming from the end of the remote?
I see a bluish purple light through my digital camera lens.
OK if we see a light from the end of the remote then what we have here is a bad IR sensor in the tv.If you decide to have this replaced profesionally you are normally looking at $200-250 to have a tech come to your home and replace it.If you know how to use a meter and want to try this yourself, let me know. Tim,
Am retired EOD tech, could use meter, but since it's a 32 inch TV can take it to a repairman. my husband and I figured out it was the IR after your comment about the remote and the fact that we know the remote works. thanks for your help. Was satisfied with your help. HOOAH!
Took TV to have IR repaired. Got to go, Thanks for the diagnosis.
