Hi,

Thank you for asking your question on JustAnswer. It would help us to know:

What is the model number of your TV?

How long ago did you purchase your TV?

Does the relay keep clicking on and off as it attempts to turn on.

We're looking forward to hearing back from you soon!

Customer replied354 days and 20 hours ago.

Model LE40R73BD. (R). S

5 years old

Yes the relay keeps clicking on and off

Ok, thank you for that information, I do not se this model listed as US but these Samsungs Tv 's have a very high failure rate in the power supply that cause this symptom. There are capacitors in the power supply that fail and cause the 12 and 5 volt voltages to load down thus causing the unit to cycle on/off several times before turning on or in some cases not turning on at all. Is this Tv a UK model?

Customer replied354 days and 20 hours ago.

Yes it's uk model

Ok, here in the US samsung recently settled a class action law suit that forced them to make free repairs on these units with this power supply problem. There may also be warranty consessions available for you there in the UK I am not sure, I would suggest you contact the UK division of samsung before attempting or paying for any repairs, if there are warranty consessions available anything you do to try and have it repaired may void that.
