the back glow comes on w picture and off w picture almost immediatley

Hi Matt,If you have sound but no picture, and the backlight only comes on briefly, then the most likely cause of this is a fault with the backlight inverter board.This board provides the power to the backlight, and faulty capacitors on the inverter board commonly cause this problem.If you have visually checked the capacitors on the inverter board and they appear ok, they may still be faulty, or a different component may be faulty or there could be some dry solder joints.If you have the schematics and test equipment available you can carry out some checks on the inverter board to find where the fault lies.If you want to replace the inverter board, it is a straightforward swap. Thanks Dan, yes for about three seconds then black, sound stays on
When the screen is black, press MENU on the original remote (not the cable remote). Does the menu come on screen?Also, dim the room and turn the TV on. Determine whether or not the backlights are on. If they're on, the screen will lighten up very slightly, from pitch black to a very dark gray almost like the screen it glowing.Dan
there is no glow, the menu does not come up but i can clearly see pic for three or fou seconds. Ive replaced the backlight inverter board and the some thing happens
