I have a Samsung 46-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV that flickers. I have had this TV since July of 2010. It flickers even if I load a DVD movie.

OK I dont have good news for you about this
Its the ccfl backlight thats causing this their is an outside chance its the invertor that controls the backlight but in the majority of cases its the backlight itself
Rather like a neon bulb about to fail the backlight flickers as either the contacts are bad or the gas is going bad either way to replace the back light is not an option due to the cost to do so
As the set is under 3 years old you should complain to samsung who have a body set up to look at complaints like this and this isnt unusual problems like this are very common with LCD TVs
