Some times the TV picture does not come up, sound is okay, but the picture flickers and come up in 15 to 30 minutes.

Haven't tried it with dvd. You might say it is blinking.

HiThe problem is either a bad invertor (this controls the backlight) ot poor grounding of the invertor or a bad backlight itself (not good news), the invertor would need to be replaced just to eliminate this as this is the most suspect If I am able to locate one do you think you can replace it yourself?or do you need a cost on repairs?Anthony
Not sure I could do it myself. What is an invertor, is it like a tube, or somekind of chip.
And what would be the cost of it (invertor) if I decide to take it on.
HiThe invertor controls the backlight its a board I would estimate the cost of the invertor to be around $100 from a board pulling site could be less (if I can find one)dont forget you could have a bad backlight in which case you may be able to send the board back but their will be a restocking charge ,if its the backlight then the set wont be worth repairing due to cost however the majority of the time it is the invertorAnthony
