What is connected to the TV for devices (DVD, cable box, etc.), and do you have thesame issue regardless of which INPUT you select?
If you press Volume, Input, or any of the other buttons on the TV does anything atall come up on the screen?
When I press tVolume or input I hane no response at all, nothing on the screen.
Nothing else is connected to the TV.
Please disconnect the set from AC power, then press and hold the power button on the TV itself (not the remote), for 10 seconds. After another minute, plug the setback in and press power once. Do you still have the same problem?
If so, please let me know how long you've had the set for.
Yes I still have the same problem.... I have the set since 2006.
Does the TV have sound at all?
Also, please try this. Shine a flashlight directly against the screen of the TV and look very very closely. Do you see a shadowy, dark image behind the screen?
No sound at all.No I do not see a shadowy, dark image behind the screen....
It is most probable that there is a failure on the power supply board inside theTV. Commonly the capacitors on this board will receive a surge and then fail. They can sometimes be visually verified by removing the rear of the set andinspecting them for bulges or leaking fluid at the top or the base of the caps. This is the most common mode of failure for these sets.
The capacitors are located on the power board inside the set, where the AC cordplugs into and can be replaced by a Tech for no more than $200 parts and labor.
