Thank you for posting your question on Just Answer! I will be happy to help you with this problem. Can you please give us some more information so I can better answer your questions.

-What is the model number for the television? (this can be found on the back of the unit)
-How old is the unit?
-When you plug it in or turn it on, does it do anything at all? (light blink, click noise, etc.)

Please give me this information and I will be happy to assist you further.
Thank you,
Tim Nolan

OK well with a 100% dead set its generally a power or a micro issue of some sort. Do you know how to use a meter? If so I can assist you with the troubleshooting/repair of this set. If not then you are going to need a tech. Chances are its going to need a new power supply or main board, the problem is this runs around $300-350 on average.

Now there is a chance that you have a bad AC fuse, however without a storm or power issue its about unheard of to go bad.

What type of meter would be required?

One capable of checking DC voltage and resistance is what we need.
