I have a hp plasma tv. Problem is that when I select source it plays for a minute or so and then continues to flick to other sources and selects automaticaly

-What is the model number for the television? (this can be found on the back of the unit) -How old is the unit? - Do you have this problem while watching all different devices hooked to this television? (DVD player, cable, satellite, game counsel, etc.)
The tv is 6 years old. I don't have the model number. The TV is builtin and I can not access the model number.The problem occurs with all sourses
If you press the MENU button on the tv, does the menu flicker too?Can you describe the flickering?Tim
The menue displays and appears as if I am using the remote to select an option. It continues to scycle through the source options. It will allow me to choose a source and it will display ok. after a minute it scyckles again and automaticaly selects a source and so on.
Does it flick to another source and stop or continue cycling though non-stop?Tim
It selects source. holds for a moment and then cycles again selects, again and again
Test the other buttons on the tv itself, do they all work correctly?Tim

If you take all the remotes that control this tv out of the room, does it still do this?Tim
I have removed the batteries from the remote and the problem continues
Ok then this is probably a bad control board. Without a model number its hard to say but you are probably looking at $250-300 for repair if you have it done professionally. If you want to repair this yourself, I can help you further with the model number.Tim
