Telling you that the Tv can't be fixed is just wrong. I can tell you how to troubleshoot the Tv. If you are interested just let me know so we can get started.

Or you can contact Samsung directly(NNN) NNN-NNNNto find an authorized servicer in your area. According to their website the nearest one is

Virginia Electronicsdispatch@VIRGINIAELECTRONICSINC.COM10975-A Richardson Road
Ashland, VA 23005
804-798-4560
270-968-7001

Or you can contact one of these NESDA servicers:

http://www.tvrepairpros.com/searchResults.php?state=&zip=23320&radius=20

Just be aware that they will charge almost $300 for labor then add parts to that. If you want to DIY please reply here. It may take a few minutes for me to be notified of your reply so please do not start a new question or relist your question.

Thanks

Mike

how do we continue with troubleshooting mike g?

Start by trying to force the back lights on:

Have the back off the Tv.

Unplug the Tv from power.

Disconnect the multi pin power harness that goes from the Main board (on the left with all the AV In/Out jacks) to the Power/IP board (on the right has the AC Power plug).

Now plug the power cord into the Tv.

Do the backlights come on? Stay on until you unplug the Tv?

Reply here. Do not start a new question.

ok, tried that and i still get the clicking noise. i see that there is a small slender fuse located almost in the middle of the set; does this have any bearing?

"a small slender fuse located almost in the middle of the set" not sure what you are referring to.

Next test-

Unplug the Tv from power.

Re-connect the multi-pin power harness that you had disconnected.

Disconnect the ribbon cable from the TCON board (labeled "T" in the picture).

Apply power.

Report results.

nothing, still intermittent clicking

It's either the Power board or the Main board. I would 90% suspect the Power board first:

Main board has different versions depending on version printed on side of Tv:

Na, just try the power board. That should fix it. If not, then get the Main.
