I have Mitsubishi 52" LT-52149 that is 3 years old. When you turn the TV on vertical colored thin lines appear on the left side of screen. The rest of the picture is fine. After about 30 min. they will disappear and everything is fine. The lines are about 2" wide and gradually fade until they disappear after 30 or 40 min. This is annoying because I know something is going bad since it just fairly recently started doing this. Do you have any idea what the fix for this would be?Thanks,Milford
Hi Milford,
This is a fairly common problem in your model. Unfortuantely what you have is a LCD module failing and it will require replacement to get the tv working perfectly again. The problem is this part runs about $2000 to have replaced, so you are better off with a new set rather than repairing this.
HOWEVER, this is a common problem on these units and I have seen customers call mitsubishi and convince them to repair or replace the set. Since its only a few years old and it should have lasted longer and not to mention it cost a good penny. If you call them and speak with them about it, express your displeasure with the situation....they may do something for you.

Do you know if this would be a plug-in type of Board or module that Mitsubishi could send me or is this a complete unit that I could not replace if available myself. I used to repair electronic business machines, calculators, etc. and have some technical experience. Thanks,Milford
The LCD panel is the entire screen of the tv, so its a major job...all the boards have to be taken out of the tv, etc. to get it out.
You could probably do it but its not just a simple board, major job. However, you may talk them into repairing it completely tech and all.
Thanks for your help.Milford
