the tv turns on, blue screen and "no signel" only. Input button does't work

Make: Vizio 42" HDTV
Model: VIZIO GV42L HDTV

Already Tried:
USING BUTTONS ON SIDE,CHANGING BATTERIES IN REMOTE,UNPLUGED TV FOR A PERIOD OF TIME

Please answer the following questions so I can make an accurate diagnosis.
How old is the set?
Also what devices are hooked up to the set, game console, cable box or satelite dish, or DVD?
Do you have any sound?

5 yrs, cable box, dvd suround sound system,no sound

Thank you for the information.
WHat I would like you to do is unhook all audio video cables from the back of the set.
Als unplug both the cable box and and the TV.
Wait 5 minutes then plug the the audio video, HDMI whatever you are using back into the set in the correct locations.
then plug power back in.
to both the TV and the cable box.(turn the cable box on after it has completly booted up)
Then from your menu on the TV, (if that works) reporogram the set selecting the catv. The run the auto program function to see if you can receive any signal.
If not, I will advise you on what part needs replacing.

I do have sound, but the tv has the same problem
