HiIts the lamp, the bizarre behaviour is the lamp reaching a certain temp then because of loss of pressure will shut down it cools and the cycle is repeated, their may or may not be sound and it wont light up the "lamp" warning light in the front of the setYou need to replace itYou can get a new original lamp from here get one complete with housing its easier to changehttp://www.dlplampsource.com/xl-2200-television-replacement-lamp.htmlIf you dont know where the lamp is or how to replace please let me knowAnthony
