Samsung LNT4061FX LCD TV - permanent, irregular-shaped burn in convering most of screen. How to eliminate this burn in.
Optional Information: Make: Samsung Model: LNT4061FX/XAA Already Tried: TV experiences temporary burn in due to letter box and less-than-full screen programs. However, it now has a permanent (last 6 months) burn in that covers about 95% of screen.

Yes, burn in is there when playing a DVD.
HiSorry to say theirs nothing that can be done about that...The panel is damaged it doesnt happen as much as plasma burn in on LCD but can happen, to replace the panel is not an option due to the costSorry for poor news hereAnthony

Thanks for the replacement estimate. One final question, though. What causes this to happen to a TV that is only 4 yrs old? There have been no extreme temperature fluctuations or improper care of the TV.

There are 2 things that happen 1 is an un uniform blob looking burn and the other is a 4X3 box looking burn and its cused by not utilizing a full screen as the area with the pix is hotter than the area in blackand the polorizer film starts to discolor the other is caused by DELAMINATION of the film to the LCD panalboth are casued by heat and usage ...and design flaw
