My aquos tv is shutting off for a minute or 2 and then turning back on, then will stay on for a bit and shut off again. it started doing this a week ago. What could it be?
Optional Information: Make: aquos Model: LC-C6077UN Already Tried: checking all hd wiring, cable box, menu reset
Hi,Thank you for asking your question on JustAnswer. It would help us to know:How long ago did you purchase your TV?When it shuts off are you losing the sound and picture?
Does the LED on the front flash at all? We're looking forward to hearing back from you soon!
Aloha Steve, I purchased the tv I think a little over 2 years ago?
I don't lose sound from cable channel. I lose picture.
The LED light (2 lights on bottom right turn off and then when turning back on, first one light then second light, then tv gets picture again.)
Thank you
Just so I understand, the Tv does not shut off completely, just the picture goes off, do you know if you are able to get the menu to come up with the sharp TV remote once the picture goes off?
I cannot pull up menu when picture goes off. I believe the whole tv shuts off/on because the 2 lights are Power and OPC that both shut off. My tv can be off as my cable and sound of channels can be heard while tv is off.
The tv shuts off and makes that clicking off sound like it always has when i physically turn off tv.
Ok, now I understand a little better. There is complete shutting down of video and audio etc. and the LED's flash, there are two LED's the power and OPC do they flash in sequence that you can tell? The power LED flash once then the OPC twice, anything like that?
This would be a code that would indicate what module is failing. The next time it shuts down see if you can notice if it is flashing in any sequence that may be help full. I am certain I can give you an idea of what might be causing this and the cost to repair it.
When the tv shuts off, both power and opc light go off at same time and tv is automatically off.
When the tv comes back on, the power light comes on, no flashing, then a few seconds later the opc light comes on, no flashing then the screen is back on.
OK, with that information it is difficult to tell exactly what is going on but the fact that the LED's go out and there is no fault code I think the power supply is shutting down.
The power supply RDENCA369WJQZ is 166.00 dealer cost. A shop repair for this should run around 275.00. If you are attempting to repair it your self the parts can be purchased at: http://www.encompassparts.com/item/8097583/Sharp/RDENCA369WJQZ/Power_Unit
I wouldn't advise that with out some test procedures first, you would have to have a digital DC multimeter tied to the power supply outputs and be able to see what happens when the unit shuts down. if the entire supply is shutting down then I would go with the power supply.
