Model number TH - 37PX70BA. Purchased November 2007 from XXXXX XXXXX High Wycombe.I have a problem with the AV2 input The picture in AV2/AV2S "mode" is almost a negative version with purple colouration atthe edges of people, cars, furniture etc.As this is my DVD recorder input, I cannot use the "rec" or "dir TV rec" buttons on the DVD recorder remote control as I will record this horrible picture. Playback of timed recordings are unaffected & good. The pictures in AV1 and TV modes are as good as usual. When one changes AV1 to AV2 or COMPONENT etc a graphic appears at the top left of screen indicating which "mode" has been chosen. For AV2/AV2S my screen shows "AV2-S-VIDEO".I do not believe that is what it used to be but cannot be sure.I have used the book to try & change it but without success.ThanksAlan XXX
Optional Information: Make: Panasonic Model: TH-37PX70BA Already Tried: Changing the AV2 mode from AV2-S-VIDEO to AV2-RGB but it reverts back. Checked all plugs.
Hello WelcomeThanks for using JustAnswerWhat are you using the "component" input for please? The AV2 input what lead is going in there please ie scart/phono/SVideo/hdmi?And what output on the dvd are you using ?it will be marked on the unitAnthony
I am not using the "component" input , I just used that as illustration.
AV2 input is scart
DVD recorder scart is AV1
NB this setup has been working for the last 3 or 4 years, it has only just started playing up.

Hi AlanSVideo is the luminance and chrominance the black and white and colour combine so its a 2 piece transmission, somehow the set is reverting to SVideo because it thinks that the output from the DVD is SVideo which is available on the scart, however the TV set itself may not be have within its circuitry (although its flagging SVideo)the ability to deal with this signal (its poor quality anyhow) this could be because of dropouts in the firmware on the TV itself Having said that you should not be using scart anyhow with a DVD it should be the far more superior "component"output and analogue sound or optical digital sound if teh DVD has optical out, so your looking at 5 in all component cables 3 for the picture 2 for audio (if no optical out on DVD) Let me know that you understand this?Anthony
