I have a samsung lcd tv that only half the screen works. Was on a surge protector.

Hi!When you say half, is it the left, right, top or bottom half?Do you have a solid line break or is it a gradual transition from working to not working?Tim

Looks like a bad t-con board. Look inside the tv and make sure yours matches the one at this link (CLICK HERE). If so you need to order it, looks like it runs $70.Yes, I see that now, I am in both your questions. Do you have any other sets, or just these two?Tim

i replaced the t-conn board and it did the same thing. i disconnected the ribbon cable to the side that was f**ked up and the board got hot and now it totally is gone. the board i got was refurbished. i am going to send it back. do you think it could have been anything else? do you think it might be a bad panel or main board?
It could be the panel but that would be pretty rare...hopefully you just got a bad board.Tim

Ok because I did have a samsung plasma that did that rainbow rain before but it was the whole screen. It was the main unit. Thanks I'll get a replacement board then.
I'm a plumbing expert canuck the plumbing pro how did you set it up so it goes to the feedback screen when I accept? I can't get my customers to leave feedback I have 36 accepts and 8 feedback comments.
Thats set up by Just Answer, it does the same thing for your customers too. But 8 feedback on 36 accepts is about right... I have 15,600 accepts but only 5500 feedback.Tim
i changed the board and it did the same thing. i removed the cable on that side that is not working and put it back on and the board got hot and now the whole screen is grey. i don't know that the board was bad it was refurbished from china.
