Is the light blinking green or red?

Is the tv over or under the 1 year mark, do you know?

Customer: replied 4 years ago.
over 1 year

This is really odd, 2 through 7 blinks are the only error codes on this unit. You are positive its is blinking 8 times pause 8 times pause repeat?

Customer: replied 4 years ago.
7 times

OK a 7 blink on this model is generally a bad BAL board, this would require this board to be replaced. The BAL board is the main board in the tv. This runs around $460-560 to have replaced profesionally.

If the tv is barely over 1 year old, I would still recommend calling Sony to complain about the issue, a lot of times they will still take care of a customer who is just over a year old.
