Hi,

What is the model number of the Sony DVD-VHS player?

Which cables are you using to connect the DVD player to the TV?

Thanks,
Rod

#3 hdmi to tv, #5 from cable box

Hi,

The VHS tape will not play through the HDMI connection to the TV. The VHS tape is standard definition video and will only play through the Line out (number 6). You need to connect those connections to an AV input on the TV and switch to that input when watching a VHS tape.

Thanks,
Rod

So i can have both the hdmi and the line out lines connected at the same time & just choose hdmi or aux on the tv?
Expert:  Rod replied 5 years ago.
Hi,

That is correct - you have both connected to the TV. Depending on your TV model, you just select the input/source button on the TV. Some will have the input labeled as AV, Composite, or similar for the line out.input (Yellow-video, Red&White-Audio).

Thanks,
