Steven :

Hi my name isXXXXX will be right with you. I may have a few questions to be able to provide you with a more accurate answer to your question.

Steven :

what happens when you try to power it on ? is the LED flashing ?

Customer:

no lights or clicks

Customer:

i also don't have remote as i got this at a yard sale

Steven :

Ok thank you for that information, why did you change the power supply ?

Customer:

i went to a tv repair place and they diagnosed it

Customer:

but wanted 280.00 for my 38 dollar part

Steven :

Ok, when press the power button does the LED on the front at least flicker ?

Customer:

let me turn out the lights and look

Customer:

no do you think its the little panel with the power on button on it thats is bad?

Steven :

I doubt it, here but here's what you can try just to eliminate that, the power switch is just a momentary switch, you could try just using a wire and shorting the switch for a second to see the unit powers up, if it does noit then as you there are only 4 boards in this unit the power you have changed, the tcon or inverter are not going to create this condition, this leaves the main board.

Customer:

I tried a paper clip on that wire already to no avail

Customer:

so replace the main board?

Customer:

anyway to read if power is getting to main board?

Customer:

Why would such a new tv fail? Power surge?

Steven :

yes you can just check the power supply connectors from the power supply to the main board, there should be a 5 volt stnby voltage even when the unit is off and pluged in,

Steven :

the voltages will be marked at the connectors

Customer:

I will check. Thanks. I have a service manual for this tv from online source also. that my help

Customer:

See you. Collect the pay

Steven :

there has be a 5 volt stand by voltage to run the main board to except commands from the button assembly and the remote

Customer:

gotcha. will check for a 5v reading on the connector to see if the power supply is getting to main

Steven :

you can always come back to this post with foloow up questions if you need to.

Customer:

ok

Steven :

if the 5 volts is there then the main is most likely the problem
